FC Talanta head coach Ken Kenyatta has accused his Gor Mahia counterpart Johnathan McKinstry of using abusive language towards his players during the two team’s league clash on Wednesday.
Gor came back from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win courtesy of a brace from the Football Kenya Federation Premier League leading scorer Benson Omala, but Kenyatta was not impressed by the officiating while also blaming match officials for watching on as McKinstry abused his players.

Talanta protested, as they were not convinced by the manner in which K’Ogalo scored their second goal.
“The Gor Mahia coach abused my players (using the F-word) and the fourth official was there not even cautioning him, not asking him not to use abusive language on the pitch,” Kenyatta said.
“If this is the way that we are going to officiate matches, then I am not happy. We were prepared and we were leading. We scored a classic goal unlike Gor Mahia, it was a gift from the referee.
“We should not expect foreign coaches to intimidate us in our own land. We have to be respected as local coaches.”
Talanta took the lead after 18 minutes but saw their advantage wiped out following a contentious penalty and a controversial free-kick that was taken quickly before K’Ogalo made it 2-1.
A Talanta player was adjudged to have handled in the box from a throw in and the referee pointed to the spot after which Omala stepped up to net his 24th goal of the season.
Gor’s second goal came after they took a freekick quickly with Omala receiving the ball from Austin Odhiambo to tap into an empty net to complete his brace.
Victory ensured Gor maintained their two-point lead at the top of the table on 59 points ahead of second-placed Tusker FC who beat KCB 1-0.
