Black Stars have seven more matches to go before the season concludes.

Kibera Black Stars head coach Moses Onyango is confident his side will be among the top five in the National Super League (NSL) by the end of the season as they look to begin their quest with a victory over Gusii FC.

Black Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Shabana FC last weekend and are still placed 11th on the log with 28 points with seven matches remaining to the end of the season.

Speaking ahead of their mid-week outing against Gusii, Onyango expressed his optimism over the possibility of claiming maximum points.

"Our fans should keep hopes alive. We had some problems when we occupied the second spot on the table which affected us leading to the drop but now we have solved the issues," Onyango said.

"As a matter of fact, we want a top-five finish, not anything less than that. We have failed to get past Shabana, but that has not killed our confidence and morale.

"Gusii is a good team, it plays almost the same way as we do and the best way to ensure we get maximum points is by taking our chances."

Black Stars will look to put an end to their current dismal run, which has seen them lose five games on the spin.

The Onyango-coached side will face off against Gusii at Ligi Ndogo Grounds in Nairobi.

It is worth noting that on April 29, the club players staged a go-slow and nearly failed to honor their game against Mwatate United.

According to reports, on the match day, many of them switched off their mobile phones, and the coaches, at last, got nine players who started the match, which they lost 4-1.
