Kibuli Senior Secondary School is slated to represent the country at the 2023 ISF World Football Championships in Morocco at the end of next month.

However, the government-funded school requires a huge amount of funds to make this possible.

The school’s head teacher Hajj Ibrahim Semakadde admits that they don’t have enough funds to facilitate their journey but remains hopeful that their efforts to source for funds will be fruitful.

To start with, the school has already approached the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association and FUFA.

“We’ve approached them for assistance because we shall not only go as Kibuli SS but carry the Ugandan flag on the world stage,” he told Pulse Sports.

"The school has about shs. 20 million, but we need around shs. 100M to make it happen for these talented boys

Semakadde has organized a sports gala for the school's old students to raise funds for the cause.

The first gala will be held on Friday 9th June and is expected to be graced by the Minister of State for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang.

Kibuli will represent the country together with Amus College and St. Noa for the Girls' tournament.

Kibuli and St. Noa qualified for the event as the defending champions of the East Africa games last year, while Amus are invited guests.

Kibuli has been pooled in Group F alongside schools from England, China and Ivory Coast.

The tournament runs from July 22nd to 31st.
