Bullets have lost 17 games this season and they are in danger of being relegated from the premier league.

Vihiga Bullets coach Milton Kidiga has blamed his side's struggles in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) on a lack of motivation which has taken a toll on the team, which sit at the bottom of the league table.

Bullets fell 5-0 to K'Ogalo on Wednesday afternoon at Moi International Sports Centre, and Kidiga is worried that if the current financial situation persists, it will negatively impact the results.

"To win matches we have to sort out all these issues so that players can concentrate," said Kidiga.

Bullets have had a rough patch financially since the change of administration at Vihiga county, with players needing help to survive on hand-outs from well-wishers.

Kidiga revealed that he nearly missed the game against Gor Mahia as the situation at the club is challenging, which has seen them win only one match this season.

"I cannot blame my players for the loss because we have faced financial challenges. We prepared for the game against Gor Mahia under difficult circumstances.

We were not fit physically and mentally at all against Gor Mahia. We left our base late due to a lack of finances and thus arrived in Nairobi in the morning after spending so many hours on the road. We had minimal time to prepare for the clash," he added.

Bullets lost 13 players during the mid-season window, including their dependable talisman Vincent Ogolla who is now on the books of Kakamega Homeboyz.

However, they were able to register 19 new players, nearly all having yet to experience in the top-flight league.

"With signings that I have made I am hopeful that we will be able to avoid relegation but if we fall in our next match then we will be in a tricky situation and it will be hard to avoid the chop," he concluded.

Vihiga Bullets next play Nzoia Sugar on Wednesday, 5 April, at Bukhungu Stadium.
