Kieran McKenna left Manchester United to fire Ipswich Town to back-to-back promotion from League One to the Premier League.
Kieran McKenna has completed an incredible journey from being deemed 'not good enough' for Manchester United to guiding Ipswich Town back to the Premier League after a 22-year absence.
The 37-year-old left his role as United's assistant coach under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in December 2021 to take the top job at the struggling League One club.

Just under three years later, McKenna has pulled off successive promotions to cap a fairytale rise.
Ipswich sealed their place in next season's Premier League with a 2-0 win over Huddersfield on the final day, as on-loan Chelsea striker Omari Hutchinson's goal sealed second spot and a coveted top-flight return.
It continues McKenna's remarkable upward trajectory after being told he did not have the credentials to go further at Old Trafford after the sack of his former boss Ole.
Tactical Brilliance the Key
While McKenna lacked the profile and playing career of many modern managers, his tactical nous and ability to gel together a talented, hungry squad has been key to Ipswich's success.
The former Northern Irish under-21 coach has turned Portman Road into a fortress, with an attractive, possession-based style making the Tractor Boys one of the EFL's most watchable sides.
Ipswich's attractive philosophy will now get the ultimate test in the Premier League cauldron after over two decades away. But having defied expectations already, McKenna and his players will back themselves to make an impact among the elite.
After being cast aside by United, the studious young manager has well and truly proven he has what it takes by engineering astonishing back-to-back promotions with Ipswich.
