Newly-promoted Uganda Premier League outfit, Kitara FC, has officially announced the signing of proficient striker Jude Semugabi, bolstering their attacking line for the forthcoming season.

The seasoned forward, who last served Mbarara City, has signed a one-year deal with Kitara FC.

Semugabi was named new head coach Brian Ssenyondo’s top target as he attempts to rebuild the club’s squad.

His acquisition was confirmed by the club in an official statement: “Ssemugabi inked a year-long working deal with us and becomes the fifth player to join us.”

Semugabi's flexible playing style will be a valuable asset to Kitara FC. According to the club’s statement, “He plays as a forward but is also comfortable on either wing. His acquisition will add depth and strength to the team.”

This signing marks a reunion between Semugabi and coach Ssenyondo, who previously worked together at Mbarara City.

It is anticipated that their past rapport will enhance team dynamics and on-field strategies at Kitara FC.

Semugabi boasts a remarkable record in Ugandan football. He played a pivotal role in Ssingo's 2018 Airtel Masaza Cup triumph, emerging as the top scorer with a tally of eight goals.

He has also had a stint at the now-defunct Kiboga Young, where his noteworthy performance - scoring 17 times in the regular season and three goals in the playoffs - fueled the side's promotion from the third tier to the FUFA Big League during the 2017/18 season.

The signing of Semugabi is a continuation of Kitara FC's strategic team-building process during the ongoing transfer window.

He is the fifth addition to the squad, following the successful acquisitions of Chrispus Kusiima, Frank Tumwesigye (alias Zaga), Ibrahim Magandazi, and Kipper Luwalo.

With Semugabi's signing, Kitara FC aims to make a significant impact in the Uganda Premier League, leveraging their strengthened team for a successful season ahead.
