Kitende and Amus College will face off in the final on Sunday as Kibuli and Kitovu fight for silver.
St. Mary’s Kitende are a game away from extending their record at the East Africa Secondary Schools football championship to 14 after beating St. Henry’s College Kitovu to advance to the finals in Rwanda.
The match was earlier touted to be a cracker, but Kitende shook Kitovu with an early second-minute goal.
Uganda Cranes defender Rogers Torach curled in a freekick which was brushed over for Fazil Tumwiine to head in the opener.

SCHOOLS FOOTBALL East African school games still troubled by age-cheaters as doubts cast over Ugandan players
Mugisha’s revelations come at a time when several commentators have raised their doubts over several football players who feature for Ugandan teams in the games.
Kitende sealed the game ten minutes into the second half through Tumwiine, who popped up to head Derrick Kato’s cross from the right wing.
Kitovu cut the deficit by one after second-half substitute Ronald Mutasigwa tapped the ball into the back of the net from a goal-line scramble.
However, that could only count as a consolation as Kitende held on to qualify.
In the other semifinal, Amus College ejected defending champions Kibuli SS through Allan Oyirwoth’s second-half strike from the spot.
Oyirwoth boosted his chances of claiming the golden boot after scoring his 11th goal.
