Kitende will face Kitovu in the second semifinal on Saturday in what is a repeat of the national finals played in May.

The East Africa Secondary Schools boys football title will remain in Uganda after the four representatives qualified for the semifinals.

Record champions St. Marys Boarding School Kitende walloped Kenya’s Dagoretti High 3-0 to finish top of Group B with ten points.

Their Ugandan counterparts Kibuli SS pipped Kiwiira Coal Mine from Tanzania 1-0 in the other match to finish level on points with Kitende but remain second due to an inferior goal advantage.

Both teams drew 1-1 in the Ugandan derby earlier in the week.

In group A, Amus College produced their best-ever show this year, mauling Kalangala Secondary from Tanzania 7-2 to wrap the group stage with 13 points.

The Bukedea schools won four and drew one to complete their campaign in the pools without a loss in their debut season.

Another debutant St Henry’s Kitovu, became the first Ugandan team to lose a match at the championships following their 3-2 defeat to Kenya’s St. Anthony’s.

Nevertheless, Kitovu progressed to the semifinals due to a better goal advantage after finishing level with the Kenyan side on eight points.
