The Flying Eagles crashed out of the U20 World Cup after losing 1-0 to Korea Republic in the quarter finals.

The fairytale story of the Nigerian side have come to an end following their impressive run in the tournament.

Nigeria lost the game despite holding most parts of possession and winning many corner kicks which did not yield to a goal.

Here are 3 mistakes Ladan Bosso men made in the loss to Korea

The Nigerian side enjoyed most of the possession but were unable to deliver a killer instinct in the final third.

There was no through ball into the Korea defence that caused panic, instead the boys decided to try to shoot from long range but only troubled the keeper a few times.

2. The Flying Eagles showed too much of the ball

Bosso’s men held on to possession more than created scoring chances in the game and unfortunately it did not pay off.

The few chances the Koreans had were more threatening and their persistence and were rewarded in extra time.

3. Bad luck

The team generally played well but could not find an opening to break through which tired some of the players out.

Nigeria were able to score against the tactical Argentines and the Italians side but it was not meant to be against the Koreans.
