The Georgian partnered effectively with Osimhen in Napoli, has completed his medical and will finalize his transfer to PSG.

Report from Italy  suggests that Victor Osimhen's summer transfer saga played a major role in facilitating Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's smooth exit from Napoli.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia move to Paris Saint-Germain has raised questions, particularly given his role in Napoli's Serie A title win and the fact he had two years remaining on his contract.

The Georgian, who formed a dynamic duo with Nigeria’s Osimhen, has passed his medicals and will finalise his transfer to PSG.

This move comes as a blow to Napoli, who are losing a key component of their Scudetto-winning team.

Napoli has learnt lessons from Osimhen saga - Italian Journalist

Italian football journalist Raimondo De Magistris, in a report covered by Tutto Mercato Web, has shed light on the situation.

Some of the fans expected Osimhen to score more than the penalty.

He explained that Napoli learned a valuable lesson from Osimhen's attempted exit in the summer of 2024.

Osimhen had requested a transfer, but Napoli rejected all offers, deeming them insufficient. This led to a situation where Osimhen was eventually loaned to Galatasaray for free, with the Turkish club covering his wages, a move that ultimately didn't benefit Napoli.

De Magistris argues that Napoli's decision to allow Kvaratskhelia to leave, accepting a reported €70 million offer from PSG, was influenced by the Osimhen experience. He notes that this fee is reasonable considering Kvaratskhelia's recent performances.

"…this is also the result of the Osimhen saga. A player who, after winning the Scudetto, was valued at €200 million and, just a year later, was loaned to Galatasaray for free," De Magistris explained.

He concluded, "The lesson is always the same, players should be sold when they no longer want to be at a club. This applies to any club, but especially one like Napoli, which went on to win its third league title a few months later, following the departures of Kalidou Koulibaly, Lorenzo Insigne, Fabian Ruiz, and Dries Mertens."

Essentially, Napoli appears to have prioritised a clean and profitable transfer for Kvaratskhelia to avoid a repeat of the Osimhen situation, where they ultimately lost out on a potential transfer fee.
