Kwara United suffered defeat on home soil when they hosted Niger Tornadoes.

It was a black day in Ilorin, as Kwara United suffered a defeat on home soil in their opening game of the Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The Harmony boys were disharmonised by visitors Niger Tornadoes.

The visitors set out to secure a podium finish for the season when Godstime Joseph put Tornadoes ahead in the 32nd minute.

Sabiu Ibrahim extended the lead with a composed finish in the 69th minute of the encounter.

Sadeeq Yusuf pulled one back for the hosts five minutes before the end, scoring Harmony's first goal of the season.

Meanwhile, 43-year-old Kano Pillars legend Rabiu Ali continued his impressive form from last season, netting a brace against newly promoted Ikorodu City.
