Kylian Mbappe is embroiled in legal battles with his former club Paris Saint-Germain over unpaid fees.
Kylian Mbappe has rejected Ligue 1’s suggestion of mediation between himself and Paris Saint-Germain over his unpaid wages allegations, and his representatives have reportedly stated that they will seek redress in court.
Mbappe wants to get paid
After seven seasons at the club, Kylian Mbappe left Paris Saint-Germain for Real Madrid following the expiration of his contract at the end of last season.
However, his business with the French champions is not done, as he has accused them of owing him a significant amount of money.
The 25-year-old is reportedly demanding €55 million from PSG, which is the culmination of three months of unpaid wages, a signing bonus, and an ethical bonus. The Parisians do not want to pay that figure, as they claim the player verbally agreed to waive his rights to the money.
Mbappe rejects mediation
The LFP complaints committee heard the case and advised both parties to go the mediation route, and while PSG were pleased with the verdict, Mbappe rejected the proposal.
His camp released the following statement to AFP: "The eventuality of a mediation was mentioned this morning. This possibility was rejected during the meeting by the player's representative. A mediation would be useless so to record a lack of payment that would be seen from a simple analysis of the player's payslip."
Meanwhile, Mbappe is settling into life at his new club, having finally scored his maiden LALIGA goal the fourth time of asking. However, he has been criticised by French football legend Bixente Lizarazu, who believes the forward has lost some of his explosive qualities that made him dangerous.
