The championship is expected to feature more than 1,000 football teams, including men's and women’s teams, including the U15 category.

Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, has entered a bid to host the 2023 Lagos Street Soccer Championship.

This was uncovered during an official visit to his office by a group from the Lagos Street Soccer Committee led by Mr. Bolaji Yusuf.

Hon. Ayoola stated that Ajeromi-Ifelodun is ready to host the Street Soccer events due to the high level of renovated athletic facilities available in his LGA.

While declaring expressions of interest to bid for the championship's hosting rights, Ayoola stated that there are sporting facilities throughout the LGA that are structured for grassroots football competitions, which he believes will land his LGA the hosting rights after an inspection by the Lagos Street Soccer committee.

“Ajeromi-Ifelodun is a pacesetter in sports and a hub of musical entertainment. The mission intent is to continually expose these talented young players to different competitions and provide upgraded facilities, which recently hosted over 4,000 participants in football competitions, to keep them ahead of their contemporaries."
