Celta Vigo forward Santi Mina has been sentenced to four years in prison after his appeal against sexual abuse charges was rejected.
Mina, 27 was accused of sexually abusing a woman in 2017, According to Football Espana.
Santi Mina to serve prison term
The Celta Vigo forward tried to fight the charges but his appeal, based on inconsistency in the victim’s testimony, was dismissed.
Mina will now serve four years in prison and must pay the victim €25k in damages.
The former Valencia forward spent the last season on loan in Saudi Arabia at Al Shabab but returned on the expiration of his loan deal this summer.
He has one year left on his Celta Vigo contract and what the club decides to do next, remains to be seen.
