Pau Victor and Dani Olmo have been taken off Barcelona's list of registered players by La Liga after the team missed a deadline.

Olmo joined Barcelona in the summer in a £50 million move from RB Leipzig and has been outstanding for the Spanish giants.

Following his signing in the summer, Barcelona had it difficult registering him due to La Liga's continuous financial difficulties.

However, they only got to register him temporarily until the end of 2024, which has become another big issue for Barcelona.

On Tuesday night, La Liga confirmed in a statement that they had rejected Barcelona's offer to register the players.

According to Daily Mail, LaLiga wrote, “FC Barcelona has not presented any alternative that, in compliance with LaLiga's economic control regulations, would allow it to register any player after 2 January.”

Olmo and Victor have now been taken off Barcelona's list of registered players on the Spanish Premier League's website.

The club was unable to extend Victor and Olmo's registration before the deadline, despite their best efforts.

If Spain's Football Federation continues to prevent Olmo from registering, he will be able to depart as a free agent in January.

They are pressing the Catalan powerhouses to make more cuts, generate more income, and adhere to their financial regulations.

Meanwhile, given the uncertainties surrounding his future, Olmo has been linked to a potential move to the Premier League.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are monitoring his situation at Barcelina and waiting to pounce when he becomes a free agent.

Olmo has scored six goals in 15 games across all competitions this season, making him a vital member of Barcelona's squad.
