Barcelona are preparing to offer Lamine Yamal a contract renewal with improved wages commensurate with his current profile.
Lamine Yamal made his Barcelona debut at 15; he won his first league title with the club that year as well.
From making a single appearance in the 2022/23 campaign against Real Betis, Yamal’s prominence rose last season as he started 22 league games of the 37 he played, and he was handed an improved contract.
How much does Yamal earn?
Following the contract renewal, which was announced nearly a year ago, specifically on October 2nd 2023, Yamal’s annual salary was improved to €1.5 million.
This means his weekly wage is just under €30,000, a significant amount for a player of his age, but it significantly pales in comparison to his current importance.
Outside of the wages, Yamal has reportedly received a significant amount in bonuses from the club.
Yamal set for a renewal
Since last season, the 17-year-old’s profile has risen once again. Over the summer, he led the Spanish national team to triumph in the European Championships and was the subject of a reported €200 million bid from Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Marca, Barcelona understand the youngster’s current contract is outdated with respect to his importance and value and have already begun work on a renewal with improved terms.
The plan is for him to sign an actual professional contract when he turns 18, and he is expected to receive a significant wage bump commensurate with his status in world football.
