Canada and Spain recorded the biggest improvements in FIFA rankings following the end of the international tournaments.

In the most recent update to the FIFA men's rankings following the conclusion of both the Copa America and Euro 2024 tournaments, significant movements among participating nations have been recorded.

Copa America impact

Canada's impressive performance in the Copa America has catapulted them up eight spots to 40th in the world rankings.

Their fourth-place finish, which included notable victories and a competitive spirit throughout the tournament, marks a substantial achievement for Canadian football.

Venezuela, another standout in the Copa America, surged 17 places to 37th after their strong showing, despite falling to Canada in the quarterfinals.

The tournament overall saw Canada facing tough competition, including eventual champions Argentina, who maintained their top position in the world rankings.

Euro 2024 influence

Euro 2024 also had a profound impact on the rankings, with several European nations making strides based on their performances.

Argentina continues to lead globally after clinching their 16th Copa America title with victories over formidable opponents, including Canada.

France, fresh off their strong showing in Euro 2024 where they reached the semi-finals, remain a strong second in the rankings.

Spain, crowned champions of Euro 2024, rose in the rankings to third place, reflecting their dominant campaign. They also recorded a high point increase from 1729 to 1835.

England, the Euro 2024 runners-up, maintained their fourth-place position, showcasing consistency at the highest levels of international football.

Brazil, despite their quarterfinal exit in Copa America, retained their fifth-place ranking.

CONCACAF adjustments

Within the CONCACAF region, Canada's rise to 40th solidifies their position as a rising force, while Panama's advancement to the Copa America quarterfinals contributed to their eight-place climb to 35th.

Mexico and the United States, however, saw slight declines in their rankings following their respective exits in the Copa America group stage.

Overall, the latest FIFA rankings underscore the competitive nature of international football, with movements driven by standout performances in major tournaments like Copa America and Euro 2024.
