Following the recent update, Nigeria's Super Eagles have suffered a significant setback, dropping from fourth to fifth place after experiencing the biggest decline in November.

Super Eagles legend Sunday Oliseh has hit back at Nigerians who have criticised Augustine Eguavoen.
The Eagles’ poor outings against the Benin Republic and Rwanda in their final AFCONQ2025 games led to Nigeria falling eight spots to 44th in the world compared to moving up three spots from the previous month.
Meanwhile, as Nigeria and the Super Eagles crashed, their rivals South Africa’s Bafana Bafana made a triumphant return to the top 10 after moving three spots.
In the previous rankings, Nigeria had been positioned at 36th globally but has now slipped significantly due to disappointing performances in recent matches.
Ghana also faced challenges, dropping four places to 77th. In contrast, South Africa improved its standing by three positions, moving up to 57th in the world.
Notably, Botswana was recognised as the biggest mover last month, Niger Republic have now made headlines by climbing an impressive nine places in the rankings to take that accolade.
The next FIFA ranking update will be the last for the year and is slated for December 12th. These nations will keenly anticipate seeing where they end in 2024.
