How it happened
Inter carried their red-hot form into this game and were on top from kick-off. The hosts made a good account of themselves in the early exchanges, testing the Nerazzurri backline, but the UCL finalists coped with minimal fuss.
Lazio enjoyed spells of possession, and soon they started to match the level of threat going the other way, but it was Inter who found the opener, from the boots of none other than top marksman Lautaro Martinez.

Lazio showed more teeth at the start of the second-half and had a sustained spell of possession and chances, but they failed to punish Inter's lethargic start to the second-half before the guests rose themselves.
Inter, sharp as ever in offensive transitions, caught Lazio on the break, and France international Marcus Thuram completed a sweeping team move in the 66th minute to double Inter's lead.
Inter held on and earned maximum points to go four points clear of second-placed Juventus. They also opened a 14-point lead over the champions Napoli, placing a title defence farther from the Partenopei's reach.
