Leeds managerial target is reported to be set to sign a new contract with current club.
Leeds United are in the market for a new manager following the sacking of former manager Jesse Marsch. The Peacocks were said to be after West Brom manager Carlos Corberan, but they have hit a stumbling block as Corberan is reportedly set to sign a new deal with the Baggies. This report comes after Leeds were said to have failed in landing an initial target, Raul Gonzalez.
Leeds fail to get their man
Leeds announced that they had relieved their former manager, Jesse Marsch, of his duties on February 6th. The sacking came following a string of bad results that has Leeds sitting just outside the relegation place on goal difference.
Leeds swiftly went into the market for a replacement, and according to multiple reports Leeds had Carlos Corberan on their shortlist of managers to replace Jesse Marsch.
However, the Peacocks would now have to prioritise other targets as Transfer Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Carlos Corberan would not become the new Leeds manager as he has decided to stay at West Brom.
Corberan is said to have agreed on a new contract that would keep him with the Baggies until at least 2027.
