Leeds United has joined  Wolverhampton and Ipswich Town, in registering their interest in one Super Eagles star

Leeds United have opened interest in signing Kelechi Iheanacho, who left England in the summer of 2024 to join La Liga side Sevilla.

The 28-year-old Nigerian international, with 56 caps for his country, has struggled to find his best form in Spain, failing to score in La Liga.

Earlier reported stated that several clubs, including Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town, have been linked with Iheanacho.

Now, according to Football Insider, Leeds United have joined the pursuit and registered their interest in acquiring the former Manchester City striker.

The report suggests a loan move could be possible late in the January transfer window, though competition from top-flight clubs could complicate any potential deal.

Signing Iheanacho would potentially be a coup for Leeds, particularly given his extensive Premier League experience.

Leeds' current attacking options are somewhat limited, Joel Piroe has been manager Daniel Farke's primary choice up front this season, with Mateo Joseph as his backup.

Patrick Bamford is currently third choice, while Joe Gelhardt has been loaned out to Hull City for the remainder of the season.
