French club Lens have made their stance known ahead of a possible exit for Belgian forward Loiss Openda.
Ligue 1 side Lens have set a price for wantaway Ligue 1’s breakout star, Lois Openda, after Bundesliga side RB Leipzig made a substantial but sufficient offer for the Belgian striker.
Openda transfer delayed by Price
Openda was in scintillating form for Lens in the 2022/23 season, scoring 21 goals in 38 games in the season’s Ligue 1 campaign, which helped his side, Lens, to an unprecedented second-place finish.
The marksman finished as Ligue 1’s fourth-highest goalscorer during the caption, with his 21 goals for the season behind only Paris SKG.
He also wrote his name into history books by scoring a hat-trick inside four minutes and 31 seconds to claim the fastest goal in Ligue 1 history.
Lens want club record fee for Openda
The Belgian forward is reportedly set to move on from Lens to greener pastures, with a summer move to RB Leipzig making the rounds of the gossip mill.
With his exit imminent, Lens have decided on a suitable asking price for Openda, and according to French site RMC Sports, the Lens forward will only be allowed to move if Lens get a bid of up to €50 million for their Belgian superstar.
Lens reportedly received a €30 million bid for Openda from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, but they are holding out for their total valuation of the striker, with other clubs apart from RB Leipzig also interested in the Belgian forward.
If Lens get their wish, Openda’s transfer this season will be the highest transfer fee that the club has ever gotten, eclipsing the €25 million received from Crystal Palace for Cheickh Doucoure last summer.
