Former Super Eagles star Yakubu Aiyegbeni has urged Nigerians to pray for Finidi George following Nigeria’s loss to Benin Republic.
The former Everton forward expressed his opinions regarding the current team's performance during the game against South Africa and Benin Republic.
The forward has also supported the NFF's choice to name Finidi George, a former teammate, as Super Eagles head coach.
Yakubu scored 21 goals in 58 games over the course of a 20-year career, making him one of the most prolific strikers for the Super Eagles.

Yakubu begs on Findi’s behalf
Yakubu calls the former Enyimba International coach "unlucky" and asks for prayers since he believes in him.
The former Super Eagles striker says that coaching Nigeria is not an easy task because of his experience as a player.
During an interview with Responsible Gambling, Yakubu said, “I saw their game against South Africa, and I thought they were a bit unlucky, but he’s a great guy, and I want to send him my best wishes and hope he succeeds because If he does well, we will see the real Super Eagles. Let’s pray for him to succeed.
“Listen, it’s not easy coaching the Nigerian National Team, and that is the first thing you must know. I like George because he was an unbelievable player.
“When I came to play with him, he and the likes of Jay-Jay (Okocha) were my seniors, but they were unbelievable.
“Great guys and proper Super Eagles, as we used to call them. So being a Nigerian, I’m happy he got the role.”
The Super Eagles are at risk of missing out on the FIFA World Cup after they lost their last two FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Presently, Nigeria stands fifth in their World Cup qualifying group, four points behind South Africa, Rwanda, and the Benin Republic, all of whom have seven points apiece.
