Super Eagles forwards Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella were in action as Bayer Leverkusen's long unbeaten run came to an end at home to RB Leipzig.

After 35 matches, Bayer Leverkusen have lost their historic unbeaten run in the Bundesliga after a five-goal thriller against RB Leipzig.

Leipzig came from two goals down to snatch a 3-2 victory at the BayArena with Lois Openda the star of the dramatic win on Saturday evening.

Victor Boniface and his Nigerian compatriot Nathan Tella were in action, while Boniface started the game, Tella came on as a second half sub.

But the duo was outshone by former Lens star Openda, who netted a fantastic brace.

The home side, complete with their Nigerian forward Boniface in the starting lineup and Nathan Tella as a second-half substitute, seemed in control with a two-goal lead.

However, Leipzig mounted an impressive fightback, spearheaded by the outstanding Lois Openda, after overcoming a losing Amadou Haidara after just 15 minutes following a terrible head injury from Boniface.

Openda, the former Lens striker, was the star of the show, netting a crucial brace to turn the tide in Leipzig's favour. His performance proved decisive in ending Leverkusen's historic unbeaten streak.

His first goal came in the 57th minute before he completed the stunning comeback and victory with his second and RB’s third 10 minutes from time.

Victor Boniface was on the pitch for 77 minutes but failed to get a single shot on target.
