Reflecting on his contribution, Tella expressed satisfaction with the win, stating, “I could have had more today. But I am happy with mainly the team. We were able to win and get my first points so it's a nice feeling.”

In discussing his prospects with the Super Eagles, Tella noted the appointment of Chelle, who has started monitoring players before making selections.

“It is not for me to say,” he stated on possible recall to the team. “Like I have never been a player who thinks ‘I should be called up on merit.’ I have to work hard and earn my chances.”
