Goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Gabriel, Bukayo Saka, and Leandro Trossard were enough for the rampant Gunners to dismantle Sporting CP under the guidance of new boss Tiago Monteiro Teixeira.
The win leaves Arsenal inside the automatic qualification places for the Champions League knockout rounds, as the Gunners are now in 7th place with 10 points.
How it happened
Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring early, netting Arsenal's first away goal in the competition after a 415-minute drought.
Bukayo Saka then assisted Kai Havertz for a second before Gabriel Magalhães added a third before halftime.
Sporting struggled to contain Arsenal’s attack, while their star striker Viktor Gyokeres was neutralised throughout.
Gonçalo Inacio pulled one back shortly after the break, but the Gunners quickly restored their dominance. Saka converted a penalty to make it four, and Leandro Trossard added a fifth to cap an emphatic performance.
