Lionel Messi has faced over 100 goalkeepers throughout his illustrious career, while representing Argentina, Barcelona, PSG, and Inter Miami.

Argentina and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi delivered a verdict on the greatest English midfielder of all time.
Despite his impressive goal-scoring record, Messi acknowledges that certain goalkeepers have pushed him to raise his game.
In a 2019 interview with FIFA, he mentioned that he had faced many world-class keepers, citing Gianluigi Buffon, Manuel Neuer, and Iker Casillas as particularly notable opponents.
"The best goalkeeper? I played against many, but to choose one specifically I would say [Gianluigi] Buffon, and [Manuel] Neuer...I don't know there's so many but they are two of the best. Also [Iker] Casillas," Messi said.

However, one goalkeeper who gave Messi a frustrating time was Chelsea legend Petr Cech.

"It took him a long time to score past me – 10 games in fact as I was an Arsenal player when he eventually did," Cech said, reflecting on his efforts to stop Messi.
Cech's Chelsea side had a long-term rivalry with Barcelona, with the two teams facing each other 10 times between 2004 and 2012.
