Former Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has found a new home in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen after leaving the Anfield club as a free agent.
Keita joined Liverpool in 2018 from RB Leipzig for £52million amid fan acclaim and ofty expectations but his time at Anfield was riddled with injuries and average performances.
Over five years, he made 129 appearances and none really stood out. Last season in particular, was a hugely disappointing one for the Guinea international as he made just 13 appearances in all competitions.
Keita leaves Liverpool to Join Werder Bremen
“A number of clubs are obviously going to be interested when a player like Naby Keita is available on a free transfer,” said Bremen head of scouting Clemens Fritz.
Werder Bremen will hope the 28-year-old can rediscover the form that made him so valuable to Leipzig and earned him the Liverpool move in the first place.
