FOOTBALL Revealed: How Real Madrid beat Liverpool, Manchester City and co to Bellingham signature
The Los Blancos are reported to have pulled all stops to ensure the 19-year-old signs for them ahead of a host of Premier League giants
With Real Madrid prepared to do business with Dortmund on those terms, Liverpool have now had to look for alternatives to Bellingham, with Brighton’s Mac Allister their new prime midfield target.
Liverpool seek swift Mac Allister deal
Liverpool are hoping to avoid a similar circumstance to the Bellngham debacle by acting fast on deal for Brighton’s Argentine World Cup winner before other clubs start to cast glances his way as well.
The Red devils have been admirers of Mac Allister since he helped Argentina to a first World Cup title since 1986, starting six of the Albiceleste’s seven games in Qatar while also assisting a goal in the final against France.
They will be hoping to tie up a deal as early as May to avoid entering a bidding war, and expect to be able to do that since the player and the selling club are also angling for a summer move.
