Steven Gerrard has been asked to resign as manager of Al-Ettifaq following a series of poor performances.
Al-Ettifaq appointed Gerrard in January 2024 and made him the 4th highest-paid coach in the world.
Since his appointment, his team have struggled to impress and recently got eliminated in the Saudi Cup by a second-division team.
The Saudi Arabian side are currently 10th on the Saudi Professional League table and far away from the league leaders.

Gerrard told to quit
The current performance of the Al-Ettifaq team has led to fans and pundits calling for the resignation of former Liverpool star Gerrard.
According to Daily Mail, a supporter shared on social media after last weekend's 1-1 tie with Al Feiha, “By God, Gerrard is making fun of himself.
“I have never seen a failed coach who has a lot of excellent names and doesn't know how to employ them properly.
“Dembele is a substitute and he is the top scorer, and Majed Duran is one of the best talents. May God help Al-Ettifaq fans.'
Another supporter added, “Al-Ettifaq's situation will not change with Gerrard at the helm of the technical staff.”
Another supporter said, “I was very optimistic before the match, but when I saw the lineup, I washed my hands of it. In every match, there is confusion and changing of names.
“It has confused me and all the experts about how to draw the lineup that Mr. Gerrard has been in for seven or eight rounds so far. He has been around since last season and he doesn't know how to put together a lineup.”
In recent weeks, criticism about Gerrard's starting lineups has become the norm following the manager's team selections.
