Despite a spirited fight, Nottingham Forest could not deny the Reds a second consecutive Premier League win.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that his side made things difficult for themselves against Nottingham Forest.
The Reds fought to secure a 3-2 win over Forest in a tense encounter at Anfield, but for Klopp, his players created a difficult situation for themselves.
The first half ended in a goalless draw before the second half came with five goals. Diogo Jota scored for Liverpool, and the lead was cancelled out four minutes later after Neco Williams' deflected strike equalized for Forest.
The Reds claimed their lead again a few minutes later, with Jota bagging his second in brilliant fashion. Forest fought back and equalized once more through Morgan Gibbs-White.
Mohamed Salah scored the winning goal – from a Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick – to hand Liverpool a second straight league victory.
"The most important thing in football is the result. I think we deserved the three points; we had the majority of the ball, around 86 per cent in the first half, which was really strange," said Klopp after the match, as quoted by Sky Sports.
"We made things more difficult than they should have been, but we were patient, which we had to be. When you play against such a deep block, you have to be patient, it's obviously not a game to enjoy because it only would have been an up and down game if we lost the ball."

Nottingham Forest have been told to take heart after a gallant performance against Liverpool in the Premier League.
Klopp pointed out what Liverpool particularly struggled to deal with.
"Their throw-ins were a massive threat, we should have done better in those situations," he added.
"But having gone 1-0 up and conceding the equaliser, going 2-1 up and conceding the equaliser, and then scoring the third, it was cool, I really liked that a lot.

Jurgen Klopp believes his team deserved maximum points following the 2-2 draw against Arsenal.
"We've got three points more than before, and everything is good."
The victory left Liverpool – seventh in the table - six points outside the top four and with an outside chance of securing Champions League qualification.
