Liverpool have reportedly made initial contact with the man they want to replace manager Jurgen Klopp, with a three-year contract discussed with his agent.

Liverpool have reportedly made significant strides in securing Ruben Amorim as their new head coach.

Following intense speculation surrounding Jurgen Klopp's impending departure, Liverpool has been actively seeking a suitable successor.

Initially, Xabi Alonso emerged as a strong contender, given his success at Bayer Leverkusen. However, Alonso's recent decision to stay at Bayer Leverkusen prompted Liverpool to explore other options.

Enter Amorim, the current coach of Sporting Lisbon, who has allegedly caught Liverpool's attention with his impressive performance metrics.

According to Portuguese football journalist Pedro Sepulveda, Liverpool held discussions with Amorim's agent to iron out the final details of a proposed three-year contract. Despite these advancements, the club has yet to formally approach Sporting Lisbon regarding Amorim's potential transfer.

When questioned about the speculation surrounding his future, Amorim remained non-committal, stating, "No, I can’t guarantee that. I don’t want to be talking too much about my future. But I won’t argue or put any pressure on Sporting, I owe the club a lot."

However, reports suggest that Amorim is open to Premier League opportunities, with multiple clubs monitoring his situation.

Amorim's coaching journey has been remarkable, starting with stints at Casa Pia and Braga before assuming the role of Sporting Lisbon's manager in March 2020.

His tenure has already seen Sporting clinch their first league title in nearly two decades, and the team currently leads the Primeira Liga standings, holding a four-point advantage over second-placed Benfica with a game in hand.

As negotiations progress and speculation mounts, Liverpool fans eagerly await confirmation of Amorim's potential appointment and the beginning of a new era under his leadership.
