Why Liverpool and Manchester United want Kerkez

Kerkez has impressed with his performances for Bournemouth this season, contributing to their strong start to the campaign.

His attacking prowess and defensive solidity have caught the eye of the Reds, who are looking for a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.

However, the Reds face competition from Manchester United, who are also in the market for a left-back.

According to the report, both clubs are reportedly considering several options, including Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies, Fulham's Antonee Robinson, Benfica's Alvaro Carreras and Girona's Miguel Gutierrez.

Bournemouth are understood to value Kerkez at around £50 million, a significant fee for a relatively young player.

While the Cherries are reluctant to lose a key member of their squad, they may find it difficult to resist offers from the Premier League's elite.

Liverpool are reportedly exploring the possibility of including players in a deal to reduce the financial outlay.

What next for Liverpool and Manchester United?

The long-time English rivals face off at Anfield on January 5, with Slot’s table-topping side keen to begin 2025 positively and Ruben Amorim searching for success to move on from the club’s miserable December.
