Although Logarusic was impressed by the side’s willingness to press high and the individual quality in possession, he was frustrated by a number of issues.

New Kenya Police FC head coach Zvadko Logarusic insists his charges must improve on their discipline without the ball after beating Bidco United 2-0 in his first game in charge last Saturday.

Police had gone without a win in each of their first four league games, which prompted the management to part ways with Francis Baraza and appoint Logarusic, who previously coached Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.

Logarusic was far from pleased with his side’s game without the ball, saying it was one of “the many things he did not like” about the team.

“So many things I did not like,” Loarusic said. “We have so many things to improve,” he added.

“I am happy when I see a good team which can improve, that means I can improve them. That should just (be) the beginning of us.”

Logarusic said the team impressed him as Kenneth Muguna’s goal was scored from a phase of play in which they forced a turnover of possession in the build-up.

“The team impressed me, not just a player because today I think I did not see it before but we saw a bit (more of a) running police team which played with lots of pressure.

“Even we saw that we scored (the) first goal with pressure from the front, even here and there. I think we are on the right track.”

Asked about what he did not like, Logarusic said: “Look at me, I look like a robot. I couldn’t improve the skill, I couldn’t improve the short, I could not improve how they make short crosses and other things but I must improve their head.

“They must learn and think in the same time, still sometimes they are missing this and that is what I want.

“I want to improve them tactically, individual tactic, group tactic, and team tactic that is most important, but today I saw some nice things. Police have some real quality players but off the ball, we have to work much better, especially without the ball.”

Police will face City Stars in their sixth league game of the season this weekend.
