Atalanta, currently sitting fifth in the same competition and unbeaten so far, are enjoying a strong season buoyed by that Europa League win earlier this year.

They recently showcased their attacking style and ability with a resounding 6-1 victory over Young Boys, although Lookman was not on the pitch for that match, remaining an unused substitute.

Despite his absence from that one-sided win, the 27-year-old has made an impact this season with two goals and one assist in four Champions League matches.

The next encounter between Real Madrid and Atalanta is scheduled for December 10, 2024, in Bergamo, Italy and Lookman, if fit, is expected to start against the Los Blancos.

This match presents a crucial opportunity for Real Madrid to revive their faltering Champions League title defence against a formidable opponent. Slotting into the role of underdogs, Madrid will need to regroup quickly after their recent loss.

Following the defeat to Liverpool, where Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah both missed penalties, Real Madrid's manager Carlo Ancelotti faces mounting pressure to turn things around.

The team has struggled with injuries and inconsistent performances throughout the season, making that fixture against a confident and solid Atalanta side all the more critical.

As they prepare for this decisive match, Real Madrid will be keen to harness their experience and available talents to overcome Lookman’s side and reignite their campaign in Europe.
