Ugandan international Ibrahim Owen ‘Baba’ Kasule finally made his debut for his New York Red Bulls II side on Sunday as they lost 3-1 to fellow expansion side Crown Legacy in the MSL NEXT PRO league.

Kasule came on for midfielder Amos Shapiro-Thompson in the 76th minute but could not inspire his side to victory, with Venezuelan forward Wikelman Carmona scoring the hosts’ consolation.

In the same vein, Kasule’s compatriot in Frank Ssebuufu also made his first start for the New York Red Bulls II side.

The 21-year-old lanky forward debuted on match day II when he came on for Nigerian forward Oladayo Thomas in the 84th minute during the 1-1 draw against Atlanta United 2.

The ‘Baby Bulls Dos Toros’ went on to win 2-1 in post-game penalties, with Frank Ssebuufu scoring one of the spot kicks.

Ibra Ssekagya’s charges have only managed two points in their first three league outings and continue to search for their first win.

Much as the MSL NEXT PRO league points system awards three points for a win, a point for a draw and zero points for a loss, any match which ends in a draw in normal time goes to a shoot-out using spot kicks to determine the winner.

Both teams will receive a point for the tie, and the winning team from the spot kicks will receive an additional point.

New York Red Bulls II now sit fourth in the North East Division with three points after three games.
