Prosecutors Seek Prison Time for Rubiales and Others
Spanish prosecutors have not minced their words in seeking harsh punishment for Luis Rubiales in the form of a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence.
The alleged offence revolves around the former RFEF president's actions after the Women's World Cup final. Alongside Rubiales, other key figures including RFEF directors Albert Luque and Ruben Rivera, and former Spain women's head coach Jorge Vilda are also facing legal repercussions for coercion charges linked to the incident involving Jenni Hermoso.
Additional Legal Woes and Financial Consequences
Aside from the kiss scandal, Luis Rubiales faces a slew of other legal challenges, including a warrant for his arrest connected to corruption allegations concerning a deal with Saudi Arabia.
On top of potential prison time, Rubiales has been ordered to compensate Hermoso with a total of €100,000 for the accusations of both sexual assault and coercion. The stringent legal measures also mandate a four-year no-contact order and a 200-metre radius restriction around Hermoso for Rubiales.
