Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer collapsed after picking up a worrying injury during Saturday's Championship play-off final against Coventry City.
However, he was conscious when he was carried off down the tunnel as his teammates looked on, concerned.
Lockyer fell over while running backwards in the opening stages of the game, and a lengthy delay followed before he was stretchered off the pitch.
The 28-year-old received medical treatment at the stadium, with his parents rushing from the stands to see him. The skipper will undergo more medical tests to ascertain what the problem is.
