The draw against Gaddafi, at least, put a break on the Sharks' free-fall that had seen the team lose six consecutive games, including the Uganda Cup.
Wakiso Giants head coach John Luyinda is hopeful his team will bounce back to winning ways after another disappointing dour goalless draw in Jinja against Gaddafi FC.
The draw, at least, put a break on the Sharks' free-fall that had seen the team lose six consecutive games, including the Uganda Cup.
Luyinda says that the departure of his key stars Ibrahim Kasule and Frank Ssebuufu, together with a number of injury concerns, could be some of the reasons his team is performing poorly.
“As a coach,” Luyinda tells Pulse Sports, “I prepare for the whole season but there are some factors that are unpredictable.
“You can’t rule out the fact that we let some key players leave the team [while the season is going on] but that happens the world over. But again, we’ve been creating chances in the games that we’ve failed to win but we hope to correct that and do well in the remaining games,” he adds.
The Purple Sharks remain 9th with 27 points, eight into safety after 22 outings. They return to Wakiso to host Onduparaka next week.
