Alexis Mac Allister could be subject to many bids in the summer with his father saying there are serious chances of him leaving Brighton.
Alexis Mac Allister's father, who is also his agent, has said that there are serious chances of the midfielder leaving the Amex this season.
The 24-year-old midfielder shone for Argentina at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, starting all but the opening loss to Saudi Arabia as the Albiceleste won their third World Cup title.
Mac Allister's future
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports a conversation between the player's father and TyC Sports, where he suggests the midfielder could be on his way out of Brighton this summer.
The player's agent and father admits that the 24-year-old is settled in Brighton, enjoying success, and basking in the love showered on him by the club. However, he also anticipates a spate of proposals for his son in the summer and suggests that they would be open to the move.
“For now he’s in Brighton. He’s enjoying success in peace, in a team that loves him very much,” he said to TyC Sports, per Fabrizio Romano.
“He feels very well in the club, but we all know that in July there are serious chances he could leave.”
Why many suitors are anticipated for Mac Allister
Mac Allister joined Brighton from Boca Juniors in the summer of 2020 and shone particularly last season, earning his debut with Argentina and a place in Argentina's World Cup squad following an injury to Giovanni Lo Celso.
The 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia caused Lionel Scaloni to make tweaks, including Mac Allister in the starting lineup for the next game against Mexico. A good performance in that game earned him a start in the third game against Poland, where he scored, and he started all games from then on.
Mac Allister was one of the best performers at the World Cup, a tournament that has already helped his teammate Enzo Fernandez get a big move to Chelsea. The Argentine World Cup winner could see himself being subject to a bidding war come summer with many clubs said to be keeping tabs on him.
