The Chelsea winger has explained what makes the playmaker special, as the pair seek to oust Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden in England’s XI.

Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer are poised to make their mark on the international stage, with Madueke singing Palmer's praises ahead of their potential first senior England appearance together.

The two young stars, who have risen through the England ranks since their Under-15 days, have rekindled their partnership at Chelsea, forming a dynamic duo that has already shown glimpses of its immense potential.

What Madueke said about Palmer

Speaking at a press conference at St George's Park, the right winger expressed his admiration for the playmaker’s talent and composure, stating that "the sky's the limit" for the 22-year-old midfielder.

He highlighted Palmer's remarkable ability to remain calm under pressure, a trait that has contributed to his impressive goal-scoring record of 28 Premier League goals since joining Chelsea.

“Cole Palmer’s a very unique player,” Madueke said. “A type of player that doesn’t feel pressure, in the most pressurised situations. I admire that about him.

“He’s just as relaxed off the pitch as he is on the pitch. That’s just him. Some people are just like that. That’s his character. And it works for him on the pitch.

“Cole’s just unique in that sense, where he can just go on the pitch, play the game, have fun, play the game to enjoy it, and he’ll produce anyway. That’s just him.

“He’s a great footballer. And I’m sure he’s going to produce for England, just as he does for Chelsea.”

Madueke shed light on his connection with Palmer, fostered through years of playing together since their Under-15 days.

This is evident in their on-field synergy, with the playmaker assisting all four of Madueke's Premier League goals, highlighting their intuitive understanding and complementary styles.

“I feel like we’re very good friends off the pitch, so he probably looks for me a lot, just as I look for him,” continued Madueke. “He’s got a killer pass, and I’m very dynamic, so I think it just works.”

What next for Madueke and Palmer?

Both attackers could start in England's October 10 Nations League match against Greece at Wembley Stadium.
