While speaking on FUFA FM’s Tuteegera Mupiira program on Thursday evening, Magogo explained that foreign coaches have demand due to technical advantage over local coaches.
Federation of Uganda Football Association president Moses Magogo has spoken out on the acquisition of more foreign coaches by top local football clubs.
While speaking on FUFA FM’s Tuteegera Mupiira program on Thursday evening, Magogo explained that foreign coaches have demand due to technical advantage over local coaches.
“Today, a number of our StarTimes Uganda Premier League clubs are recruiting foreigners,” Magogo said.
“This is a reality check to us to examine our coaches and establish what exactly needs to be done to build capacity,” he said.
Magogo insinuated that the acquisitions of foreign coaches by top clubs vindicated FUFA’s appointment of foreign coaches as national team head coach in recent years.
“This debate is beyond Micho [national team’s Serbian head coach]. I’m not even defending him here but we are looking at the entire player quality output of our systems. We have to appreciate that our challenges are more than Micho.”
