What Guardiola said
Manchester City held a slender lead, and in the second-half, a significantly improved performance from the visitors had Pep’s team hanging on by a thread.
The camera then panned to the sidelines, showing Guardiola yelling at a section of the fans close to the tunnels before returning to the bench.
The City coach was questioned after the match about the incident, and he explained that the fan was asking Pep to make a substitution to influence the game state, which had momentum swinging Newcastle’s way.

"He said to me 'make a sub', I said come sit here and do it,” Pep said, per the BBC.
“The game was in a good tempo, a good rhythm. I didn't see the players too tired. It wasn't easy to make the changes so I didn't do it."
