The Denmark international is expected to slot into the starting line-up.

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu on a five-and-a-half-year deal.

The Danish youngster's deal is worth £25m (30m euros), with a potential £4.1m (5m euros) in add-ons according to the BBC.

The 20-year-old has made 57 appearances for Lecce since 2022, having joined the club at youth level.

"I am incredibly proud to be able to call myself a Manchester United player - this is a very special day for my whole family," said Dorgu.

"I cannot wait to work with Ruben Amorim. His vision for this team and the future of the club is incredibly exciting. There is a clear plan set out for my development, and I feel that Manchester United is the perfect place to fulfil my potential and complete my huge ambitions."

Dorgu is expected to solve the left wingback crisis at Old Trafford.

He made his debut on August 13, 2023 in a Coppa Italia game against Como. A week later, the enterprising leftback made his Serie A debut against Lazio. He scored his first goal on February 2, 2024 in a game won against Fiorentina.
