Fletcher faces charge
According to the Sun, Darren Fletcher could be in trouble with the FA after his confrontation with the referee at the full-time whistle.
In first-half stoppage time, defender Matthijs de Ligt was sent off the Old Trafford pitch with blood on his face and head, which infuriated United.
Ruud van Nistelrooy were both booked for protesting when Brentford scored from a corner as soon as De Ligt exited the pitch, causing a stir.
While Fletcher, a former United player and technical director, stayed inside and allegedly angrily abused referee Sam Barrott and fourth official Gavin Ward, Van Nistelrooy persisted with his complaints down the tunnel.
The FA has yet to take further actions as they await the referee’s report before deciding whether to take any step.
