Manchester United flop Antony has blamed the sexual allegation levelled against him as the reason behind his poor form last season.
Antony was accused of abuse by former partner Gabriela Cavallin last season and went through tonnes of investigations.
Two other women came forward and reported that Antony had assaulted her; however, one of them later withdrew her claims.
Antony was granted time off in September of last year to combat the claims against him, which he has vehemently denied.

Antony blames allegation for poor form
Antony has explained the reason behind his poor form at Manchester United last season, which affected his performance.
According to Sun, Antony said, “I was obviously not satisfied with my season, but a lot happened over the year in my personal life.
“Like it or not everything I went through had an effect on the pitch. Definitely, everything I went through was very difficult for me and all my family.
“I've learnt from it all, I've grown and matured. I believe I learnt a lot from the adversity.”
Antony believes he has now put that period of his life behind him and regained his focus for the coming season.
“What I went through last season was very difficult, and I feel a lot less burdened and more prepared as well. I'm a lot more focused.”
He remains under investigation in England and Brazil but has not been charged.
Last season, Antony made just 15 Premier League appearances and ended the season with just three goals in all competitions. never recovered his form.
However, he now has a chance to make amends this season with his new focus, beginning with tomorrow's Wembley curtain raiser.
