Wayne Rooney was sacked after a shocking spell as Plymouth boss and has now been urged to follow in the footsteps of Chelsea's Enzo Maresca.
Former West Bromwich Albion striker Don Goodman has advised Wayne Rooney on the next steps after being sacked as manager of Championship side Plymouth Argyle.
Rooney enjoyed a glittering career as a player, but his managerial career has been less successful.
The 39-year-old has struggled to replicate his playing success in the dugout. His recent stint at Plymouth Argyle was particularly disappointing, with the team winning just five out of 25 games under his leadership.

Rooney advised to join Manchester City
Goodman believes the England legend has taken on difficult managerial jobs throughout his career.
"I do feel sorry for Wayne Rooney," Goodman said as quoted by Goal.
"Every role he's taken has been a really difficult one. It's difficult to see where he goes next. It's hard to see him getting a manager role at any high level in the immediate future."
Goodman suggested that Rooney could benefit from learning from one of the best managers in the world.
"I remember him joking about going to Manchester City and learning from Pep Guardiola previously.
"It sounds funny but it wouldn't be the worst idea, would it when you look at what Mikel Arteta and Enzo Maresca learned?"
