Man Utd vs Galatasaray: 3 reasons why Red Devils should sack Ten Hag now

Erik Ten Hag has now led Manchester United to 6 defeats in 10 games this season. Is it time for him to go?

Erik Ten Hag's second season at Manchester United has started rather poorly, to say the least.

Six losses from the first 10 games in all competitions, 4 defeats in 7 Premier League games, and 2 defeats out of 2 in the Champions League. Something needs to change.

Here are 3 reasons why Manchester United may be better off sacking Ten Hag now

Wasted resources

Ten Hag has spent around 400m since arriving and there is no discernable style of play, nothing to show for the huge outlay on players.

The Dutchman has had things his own way, recruiting his preferred names, bringing in the likes of Antony, Lisandro Martinez, Malacia, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, and most recently Andre Onana.

When you spend that kind of money on recruitment, there needs to be visible progress and so far, we have seen very little to suggest things could change, He needs to go before being allowed to spend any more.

Poor Tactics

Ten Hag has left fans confused by his tactics this season. Often setting up in a 4-2-3-1 but with Casemiro left to do al the defending, with either Eriksen or Mount higher up.

This has made United too easy to play through, while injuries have not helped, the set-up has failed to maximise the players at his disposal.

Too much faith in underperforming players

Players like Casemiro, Andre Onana and Rashford have been poor all season but the manager continues to persist with them in the starting XI.

Against Galatasaray, Casemiro, and Onana combined to take the momentum away from the home side, with Onana, in particular, having yet another error-filled performance.

It is time for Ten Hag to pick a team on merit and not past achievements or preference - or he faces a long season ahead.
