The Red Devils could face an understrength Newcastle in their final match of 2024.

Manchester United have been handed a significant boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Monday, as the Magpies are facing a potential injury crisis.

According to Manchester Evening News, Eddie Howe's side could be without up to seven players for the trip to Old Trafford, providing a welcome advantage for Ruben Amorim's struggling Red Devils.

The Magpies have been in excellent form recently, winning their last four matches and conceding just one goal in the process.

However, their momentum could be disrupted by a number of key players being sidelined through injury.

Striker Callum Wilson and centre-back Jamaal Lascelles are both expected to be out until February with hamstring and knee injuries respectively.

Goalkeeper Nick Pope is also a doubt with a knee problem, potentially keeping him out until January.

Defenders Emil Krafth and Sven Botman are further absentees, also expected to be unavailable until the new year.

Adding to Howe's concerns, Valentino Livramento and Kieran Trippier are both doubts for the game, although the Newcastle manager is hopeful that the pair will recover in time.

Success for the Magpies at Old Trafford would take them above Manchester City in fifth, while United could rise into 11th spot to close of 2024.
