Manchester City striker details rustic father-guided training in Norway involving wood chopping and mountain hikes during off-season.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has narrated how his off-season training took an unconventional turn embracing a back-to-basics regimen.

The 23-year-old forward, who earns a reported £865,000 (Ksh144 million) per week, opted for a zero-cost, low-tech training regime to prepare for the upcoming season, showing that sometimes, simplicity is key.

In a recent video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the player shared glimpses of his rigorous summer activities.

"Cutting woods in the mountains is the most Erling Haaland thing I've heard," remarked the cameraman as he captured the striker's efforts on video as per Daily Mail.

Reflecting on his unique training choices, the striker shared a light-hearted moment from his workout.

"My father forced me, I didn't have a choice," he laughs, referring to his father, Alf-Ing 'Alfie' Haaland, a former professional who also played for Manchester City, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest.

The practice of tree felling is not new to the young player as he was previously photographed engaging in this activity back in 2021, hinting at a budding passion for tree surgery that has since become a pivotal part of his fitness routine.

Aside from physical strength, the Norwegian's training also included meditation by tranquil waters, which complements his physically demanding workouts with mental relaxation and focus, essential for any top athlete.

This rustic, no-frills approach to training could be seen as the striker channeling his inner Viking, employing a methodology as rugged and robust as his playing style on the pitch.

Since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 for £52.1 million (Ksh 8.6 billion) he has shattered several team and individual records, contributing significantly to the club's historic successes.

In the 2022/23 season, he was instrumental in Manchester City's treble win, which included the Premier League title, FA Cup, and the club's first Champions League trophy.

The following season he continued his stellar performance, helping the team secure the league title and the League Cup.

The striker's remarkable debut season also saw him clinching the Golden Boot by setting a new record for the most Premier League goals scored in a season, with an astounding 36 goals.

His exceptional play earned him UEFA's Player of the Year award and made him the runner-up in the prestigious Ballon d'Or awards.
